'Yohan', my senior stock ram served ewes for the third year and Bennedict, the other Hokkeling ram, was on duty for the second time. The choice of two other rams is from the reliable female line of '911' and the first daughter of the beautiful 05655-29439. RHW1300279, is a strong and dominant ewe which produced two earlier stock rams, 'Wotan' and 'Yo Ben'. Her son 'Brimstone' will be the third. Bossy like his dam, long and powerful with a lovely rump and fine fleece. The other shearling used is 'Barbarossa' also a twin and a great grandson of my favourite ewe RHW08 560 who died last year. He is a large and heavy ram with exceptional overall muscling.

Registered here as RHW93 218. Used for several years and an outstanding breeder of females. Famously known as the A-ram from P Verberne.

4030-2394

Delos was bred by C Kikkert who sold him because of his genotype ARR/ARH. A ram which produced easy lambing females and some exceptional sons.

Eryx August 1999

Eryx was a rare find: son of the famous 03938 - 2600 he was the most correct ram I had seen in the Commandeur flock so far. Blessed with a fine white head and the characteristic width in the hindquarters, he and his son Gonzales sired a pen of six shearling ewes which sold for the highest average in Lanark in 2003.

RHW00 879 Wiston Gonzales

sired by Eryx, 03938 2852, used 2001 onwards. A ram with the coveted ARR/ARR genotype, still rare in 2001. He inherited Eryx's width in the hindquarters and a fine head from both sire and dam. Used for several years and the sire of three lovely females sold at Lanark in 2003.

4210 3747 Hutch

At the beginning of that decade it was still difficult to find good rams with the required genotype. Bought in 2002, this ram was a return to Verberne bloodlines. A correct ram with excellent legs and skin.

4030 - 3242 Ingot

Dutch rams were getting longer and heavier by 2003. Ingot, bred by C Kikkert, proved to be a good all-rounder and bred good females as well as males.

3938 3982 Laser

2005 born ram lamb from Commandeur. Very muscly and with good length.

Sired by 05682-00074 Keel and out of a large and muscly female. Stock ram for two years.

A homebred ram by Marathon Man. Well balanced and long.

03938- 03943 Lighthouse

bred in 2005 by Commandeur - a modern Dutch ram, correct, strong and long, which bred some outstanding females and sired Wiston Rheingold and Reefer both used in 2011. Still alive in 2013.

An imposing ram by the famous 0228-1928.
Roundhouse weighed 112 kg. He was used only one year to make way for Royal Flush but left four promising sons and many more daughters.
